Disney+ Mexico is significantly enhancing its programming through an expanded alliance with TV Azteca, bringing a diverse range of new content to its subscribers. This collaboration is set to introduce an innovative 24-hour reality show experience, alongside a selection of popular dramas and other unscripted series. This move highlights Disney+'s strategic focus on localizing its offerings and catering to the evolving tastes of the Mexican audience, thereby solidifying its position in the competitive streaming market.

The cornerstone of this new agreement is the inclusion of the upcoming season of "MasterChef México 24/7." This groundbreaking culinary competition is designed to offer a fully immersive viewing experience, diverging from traditional formats. Starting May 17, Disney+ subscribers will have access to a continuous livestream, allowing them to follow contestants as they live, train, and compete around the clock. This format, drawing inspiration from the 'Big Brother' model, emphasizes the dedication and skill required in professional culinary arts, moving beyond mere observation to a deep dive into skill development and mentorship within a custom-built environment.

Beyond the innovative "MasterChef 24/7" series, Disney+ Mexico will also be integrating a wealth of other content from TV Azteca. This includes renowned telenovelas such as "Mirada de Mujer," "Cuando seas mía," and "La Loba," as well as all seasons of medical drama "Doctora Lucía" and crime series "Lotería del Crimen." This substantial addition of popular fiction and non-fiction programming aims to broaden the appeal of Disney+ to a wider demographic in Mexico. The partnership also sees the integration of three live channels from TV Azteca International—Azteca UNO, Azteca Deportes Network, and Corazón—providing subscribers with access to a rich mix of local news, sports, and entertainment.

This expanded collaboration builds upon a successful prior relationship between Disney+ and TV Azteca, which previously brought popular reality shows like "La Academia" and "La Granja VIP" to the platform. Henri Ringel, Senior VP of Acquisitions and Content Sales for The Walt Disney Company Latin America, emphasized that this expansion reflects Disney+'s commitment to adapting to audience evolution and offering highly engaging, live unfolding stories. Luis Arvizu, SVP, General Manager, and Head of Direct-to-Consumer for The Walt Disney Company Mexico, reiterated the platform's dedication to providing a broad and diverse portfolio that resonates with Mexican audiences, continuously delivering compelling entertainment. This strategic move aligns Disney+ Mexico with other global free-to-air broadcasters like XSports in Brazil and ITVX in the U.K., further solidifying its global content strategy.

The augmented content selection on Disney+ Mexico, facilitated by this renewed agreement with TV Azteca, underscores a significant effort to cater to regional preferences. By incorporating a unique 24-hour reality format and a variety of beloved local programs, the platform is poised to enhance subscriber engagement and solidify its market presence, offering a more localized and dynamic entertainment experience.
